Working in clothing retail stores for years and having to display all the latest fashion trends and styles, merchandising and displaying clothes was just part of what I had to do.
Unpacking the stock would sometimes take us all morning; if you work retail, you will know what I am talking about. But the other part of receiving inventory was hundreds of pieces of folded up and wrinkled blouses; pants had to get hung wrinkle-free, and our job was making sure the clothes looked clean, unwrinkled and fresh looking. So how did we do all this promptly?
A clothes steamer, yes, we didn't need an iron that would take forever. Can you imagine? I am sure back in the day, that's how they did it. I always had an iron, too, and it always seemed so daunting to iron my clothes, but getting to use a steamer for the first time in retail was a game-changer. A steamer, I realize now, is such a life change and a time saver, and they are affordable to buy for homes and travel. I have both.
TIMES OF NEED
Here are some examples of when it would come in handy;
1. When your throw your clothes on the floor
2. When you first buy them
3. To freshen them
We think only clothing stores have steamers, but not anymore; many people buy them and keep them in their dressing room or wherever they get ready for the day.
One more thing that steamers are great for a steamer doesn't just steam clothes. You can also use it on drapery, table clothes, bedding etc.
Life hack: Get a steamer and ditch the iron; if you need the iron marks, take them to the cleaners.
Tip: Sunday Prep will be much easier.
