How To Start Having a Fulfilling Lifestyle
Is this even a thing? Really what's a lifestyle anyway?
Well, if you're like me, you have had many lifestyles. If you stop and think about it, you will see you have some themes come up.
You might want to ask yourself, which type of lifestyle are you currently practicing right now?
I bet you never even thought about it. Is it one you love, or is it one that is driving you crazy?
Here's another question? How will you change it?
Well, I have good news for you; I would like to share and give a few ideas on how you may be able to start today. Let's work on changing your lifestyle to one that brings you peace, joy and a feeling of purpose and fulfillment. One is more satisfying and in flow and alignment with who, what, and where you want to be and what you want to do. One way is to check my Lifestyle Wellness in the drop-down tabs. Go through the list and see what area should be the priority.
Every problem has a solution. We have to recognize that it's a problem in the first place.
Let's begin with finding ways and creating a lifestyle that will satisfy the different parts of our-self.
A few areas to look at:
Personal and Professional
Ensure that your personal goals don’t exceed your current income range or make you work too hard to achieve your dreams. If it's too much work, it's probably not the right path; it should come easy with minimal effort. Professional goals should ensure that it’s practical and logical and does not cost you your health or peace of mind. Most importantly, it shouldn't cost you your marriage or relationships. There is a quote I like; it goes like this.
Man sacrifices his health for money
and then he offers his money to get back his health
and then he is so anxious thinking about the future
that he does not enjoy the present
he lives as if he is never going to die
and then he dies having never really lived
Positive People
If you're trying to accomplish loving life and living free, consider this besides focusing on diet and exercise to achieve better well-being. Consider the people you're around. You can only enjoy life if the company you keep aligns with you and your beliefs, goals, and your state of thinking is positive; otherwise, you're just going with the motions of life and with the wrong people. Not a great place to be; feelings and emotions have no IQ, and destructive friendships have no value in your life.
Living a fulfilled life, a life you love and are free, comes from the people and environment you're in, "It is everything."
So how do we know if we have good friends? Lots of factors, but here are some simple things to think about.
1. "You cannot speak from your heart," the truth or be authentic. This is a big red flag, and speaking of red flags; you only need one. Before making the changes, you don't have a whole bucket of red flags. One is plenty enough. Another saying I love is when "they show you who they're the first time, believe them.
2. "Having to dumb yourself down." I always use this as an evaluation after a meet-up; how do you feel after you've been with them? If you don't feel good or some lousy vibe is coming up, listen to that; at that point, It's time to take a close look and do an inventory. Lots have a hard time doing this though we think that the people we have encountered in our lives are supposed to stay, but they're not; that's not always the case. People can have an expiration date. People grow and change, or the opposite, they don't. You will get a sense when you are around them. Like something is off, you will have friends for whom this feeling never arises. The positive people in your life will want to help you and inspire you to be motivated to accomplish your dreams.
3. Your friends or colleagues constantly complain about their life's negativity. It seems everything is about them all the time, and gossip, gossip and bitch about others; it’s time to change your companions.
Make sure that the ones you keep are the positive people, and say goodbye to the rest. They're not meant for you at this time in your life. They may have snuck into your life in a vulnerable or weak time for you or to teach you a lesson. Learn that lesson quickly and move on.
If they are complaining about others, know they are doing the same thing about you and complaining about you. Positive-minded people give positive vibes and talk about other things, not people.
4. Here's another way you can tell. The negative people will feel very uncomfortable around you and often make remarks or things to make you feel bad and question yourself.
Sometimes stepping back from everything and everyone so you can clear your mind from the distractions of chatter may be something you will have to do. Because when we revisit it all, it will be easier for you to spot the mishaps.
Start Well and End Well
The start of each day and the end of the day matter the most. I left this one for last because I want you to remember it. Like in a good hallmark movie, it also occurs in real life; it's called living with intentions. We are hardly aware of ways to bring an excellent start to our day because we are often distracted by non-tangible things or events and barely start and end the day on an accomplished or peaceful note.
START OF THE DAY
When I wake up, I first check outside, not the phone or any electronic devices. I want to see and feel it for myself, what the weather is like at that moment. How does it feel if you can't step outside, open your curtains and touch the window? I only spend a few seconds doing this. Then I start immediately taking the time to enjoy nature with some light stretches while I'm standing there. Arms above my head, leaning side to side, bending down and touching my toes, taking deep breaths taking in all the fresh air I can. As I start straightening up again, I spend a few minutes with breathing exercises and experiencing what mother nature and life offer me today. I started breathing to regulate my nervous systems years of surgeries, traumas and mishaps play a role on your body and trust me when I say it keeps score.
Yes, this sounds cheesy, but I assure you that if you take the time to do this little routine in the morning, you will start to feel something within you. I'll then go inside, pour a glass of water, maybe put my coffee on, and make my way to the yoga area, time permitting. Remember, I created the life I want, so I have the time in the morning to do this. This may not be your reality yet, but if it's something you would like for yourself, start focusing on how to do just that.
I will start up my oil diffuser with a fragrance that wakes me up, and I'll also begin with my salt mystifier and then turn to Utube, where I follow 10 to 20 minutes of yoga and meditation. Doing this for me certainly makes a difference in how I look forward to the day. I am not always perfect, and I have missed days; the difference is that I am not hard on myself about it.
END OF THE DAY
No matter the day in the end, happy or sad; casual or hectic; listen to good tunes, create that playlist and get lost. Seasonal music is how I find the stuff I listen to. Expand what you listen to and try not to stay with the same theme. Doing this will make a difference in your daily life. End well means all well. ;)
